(September 21, 2010, Washington, DC) - Garrison & Sisson, Inc., a leading Washington, DC attorney search firm, today announced the addition of prominent attorney recaruiters Dan Binstock and Matt Schwartz as partners. Binstock will co-chair Garrison & Sisson’s Partner and Practice Group Division and Schwartz will head its Associate Division.  To accommodate its growth, the firm has also relocated to new and larger office space in the Metropolitan Square Building, just one block from the White House and right upstairs from the historic Old Ebbitt Grill.

Binstock was formerly head of the Washington, DC office of a national attorney search firm, where he successfully placed associates and partners at many of the region’s law firms.  A frequent lecturer at annual NALP conferences and U.S. law schools, Binstock is of the nation’s leading authorities on the Washington, DC legal market.  In recognition of his expertise, Harvard Law School recently selected him to counsel its rising second-year students on this key market. 

Prior to becoming a legal recruiter in 2004, Binstock practiced intellectual property law with Finnegan, a top-tier IP boutique in Washington, DC.  He earned his J.D. magna cum laude from Washington College of Law, where he was an editor on the International Law Review. Binstock earned his undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Maryland

Schwartz was formerly the executive director of the Washington, D.C. office of another top attorney search firm and is regarded as among the foremost experts in associate attorney placement; he has been recruiting lawyers for more than eight years.

Prior to becoming a legal recruiter, Schwartz was a transactional associate at Hogan & Hartson (now Hogan Lovells); before that he was a litigation associate at Howrey.  His legal training and previous employment in the field, his personal experience transitioning from litigation to corporate law, and his broad experience recruiting in Washington, DC enable Schwartz to offer clients sound counsel on career transitions and career tracks. He is a cum laude graduate of Georgetown University Law Center, and received his undergraduate degree from Brown University.
